sure, but that doesn't make the argument (that Google doesn't give
employees Windows computers because it is a competitor to Microsoft)

The link that was sent out pretty much gave Google's reason in the first
sentence. Now this may be the real reason, or it my be an invented
reason, or there may be a variety of reasons all leading up to a decision.
Whether or not this is a sensible decision, I have no opinion on. They
get to run their business the way they want to, and businesses don't
always make sensible decisions.
