Too short most of the time, so I spliced 10m of rotor control cable into it
and made a really long cable.

I was spoiled with the IR shutter release my Rollei P&S had, which really
worked out great for group pix. Unfortunately, the ZX-M has no such
provision, and I really hate having to set the little timer, run back to the
group, go back to the camera, back to the group, et cetera, also known as
group picture aerobics.

For tripod work, I simply coil up the extra cable and secure it with a
Velcro strap under the tripod.
