Counterpoint... what do most people do with their computers at least
75% of the time? Web browse, handle e-mail, watch or listen to media.
My Droid replaces my laptop a good 80% of the time I'm traveling and
not actually engaged in work.

If anyone is interested, The Atlantic ran an interesting article entitled "Who Killed the Internet?" Subtitle ran: "(Hint: Steve Jobs). The claim is the days of the browser are dead (their claim, not mine), and that Apps are the replacement. Apps are paid for, and so begins the shift away from free information open to the world via the browser driven internet to information paid for by subscription via smart phones.

I don't have a Droid, but I did upgrade to a somewhat *smarter* phone, and I must admit I enjoy what little I can do with email & the internet with what I have. I can certainly imagine enjoying a fully wacked out smart phone, and see myself headed in that direction. Friends & colleagues who have an iPhone or other smart phones talk apps all the time, but I'll be out of the app-loop for quite awhile. :-) Cheers, Christine
