Apps are popular and easy to install, but they mostly are games, utilities, gimmicks or mobile-friendly interfaces to web apps (online banking et al). And a LOT of them are free. The paid stuff is most often games and utilities, just like the most common paid software for your PC. You can chalk that article (which I tried to find on theatlantic.com and couldn't, their site navigation is not terribly good, but the essential idea is known to me) up to yet another case of older media organizations hoping to force a paid subscriber model on the Internet in order to rescue their business model. -Adam -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
