While that's true for most software, Adobe tends to permit upgrades
from Educational to Retail versions.

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to live long enough for Lightroom 4 to come out if I want to find out for myself.

I'm gonna' spring the extra $10 to get the "Education" version that's supposed to include the product key in the package. That should do me for the forseeable future.

And if the upgrade policy DOES conform to Adobe's past practice, I probably won't need to upgrade until at least Lightroom 5, which is a good thing because I don't think I'll have finished key-wording my files before then.
