PPI settings have no effect on web images. None at all. The pixel dimensions are all that matter. I go with around 800-900 pixels wide for horizontal images and around 600-700 pixels tall for vertical shots. >Or as .png as opposed to jpg? PNG files will generally be much larger with no discernable improvement in image quality. JPEGs also have the advantage of supporting embedded ICC profiles.
