I have -6 diopters in each of my (weary) eyes. As a matter of course I use both Pentax eye cap magnifier and Katz Eye focusing screen. I feel considerable eye strain after more than 1-2 hours of shooting with A 50/1.2 even in bright Mediterranean light.

Since it would seem that K-5 and K-7 would have the same viewfinder, you don't necessarily have to shell out for K-5. Though of course these cameras offer great many additional advantages of your K100D.

In fact, if it is the manual lenses that you're using, you might be better off with applying Pentax K to Canon EOS adapter to their full frame bodies, such as Canon 5D...
