because, at least in this country, food labels include a lot of information and when people are asked about them they don't understand them. When told explicitly what's going on with their food they change it. > need your help or government regulation to do so? They don't need my help. They need government regulation because they're not going to get objective, science-based information from the food industry. That regulation should start with forcing the food industry to remove harmful products from their food, whenever they are identified, and continue by providing information to people so that they can make their own choices. When people have information to make their choices this forces the retailers and the food industry to change. We're seeing it over here with trans-fats and similar shit. > And those quotes I > made up, tell me with a straight face that they aren't the logical extension of > the arguements being made in public. I can tell you that with a straight face because they aren't the logical extension of these arguments. I want this type of information so that I can make an informed choice about what I eat, and I believe other people should have the same right to choose that I have. And I mean choose - I wouldn't legislate to close McDonalds down, I'd rather see it go out of business because people stop buying their products, or see them change their products because of consumer pressure. But if people want to go out and buy heroin instead of alfalfa sprouts, let them. But let them do it from a position of knowledge about the health and social consequences from them and their children. > God save me from all the do-gooders > in this world and the folks who know what's 'right' > for me. > Regards, Bob S. > > On Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 2:23 PM, Bob W <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Yep.
