I just got one of these old Pentax-M lenses from Germany/Ebay at a resonable price - appr. 380 USD/272 Euro.
It's very nice - and quite close to "like new" - except for the leather case. I did some tests agains my "doggy" Sigma DG 135-400mm. Actually, the Sigma seems to be sharper at f. 5.6, but the Pentax 400mm improves significantly at f. 11 - f. 16. I am a bit disappointed with the sharpness fully open. I guess I should make some more test in better light, with faster shutter speeds. I'll let you know.
