What I am trying to confirm is if the M version has
the stop down lever and closes the aperture down
during moment of exposure. The early K400 had no
such lever or action. the aperture just stayed at
whatever setting the aperture ring was set to.
This makes the K version fully manual.

Hello J.C. O'Connell
It's an M lens. Meaning manual setting the aperture - F.5.6- f 45. It's a
spring aperture, so I still have open aperture fokusing. No electrical
contacts like an A-lens. Manual focus too. I use it utilizing the "green
button" for measuring light (no open aperture metering). If I use it with my
1.7x AF converter I get 680mm and Auto Fokus.

I own many M-lenses and a few K-lenses. (M stands for Compact Designs -
meaning lightweight and rather small).

Regards
Jens
