I think this is the most accurate statement many could make. I have adapted to my E-p1 and would not hesitate to buy another EVIL/ILC. Since i am obviously not alone, their will be a market for these kinds of systems and they will affect the DSLR market more than the P&S market just because the DSLR market is smaller. I think the simple answer is that m4/3, like the APS-C format is "good enough" for many folks and will always have the advantage of being smaller and cheaper.
