It seems to me that this new lens is not for "seasoned" Pentaxians who already have this focal length covered. Gimme a moment, I have it covered 4.5 times with 4 of my zoom lenses and FA 31. It is very good candidate to start prime life in Pentax land,

Yes and no, as having that focal length covered is not enough for giving up. Sure anyone already owning say a FA 35/2 or FA 31 Ltd could have little interest in getting another 35mm prime lens, but what about anyone owning only zooms and/or M/A primes? An excellent inexpensive lens supplying both quality and speed could attract them. Like you, I already own the FA 31mm, hence I'm not thinking seriously about such a lens, but other 'seasoned' Pentaxians I know are already interested in getting one. However, I agree that Pentax was mostly thinking about an excellent lens for newcomers when developing this lens. Otherwise, a metal mount had to be in order.

but it seems that the sentiment is different - buy it or else. Personally, this frustrates me.

Sotty, I don't get this. Please elaborate on the concept.
