The current cheap DA L 18-55 also lacks Quick-shift (No DA L has QSF), but you can upgrade to the DA II or DA WR versions which do have it (I got the DA II with my K-x via some wrangling with my pusher). You also get the hood with the higher-end 18-55's. The DA 35/2.4 doesn't interest me much. Like almost all of Pentax's recent lens introductions it's simply too slow for the work I do on digital. That's one major reason why I switched to Sony, I can get the fast glass I need as well as compact bodies with superb high ISO performance (My A33 is just about the same size as the K-x and I have available 24/2, 35/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.4 and 135/1.8 lenses, all but one of which Pentax lacks). Sony also makes a 35/1.8 which retails for less than the DA 35/2.4 (as does Nikon). Pentax dropped the ball by introducing a lens which is one stop slower than the competition for more money than the competition. -Adam -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
