AFAIK, things were sold off piecemeal. Lots of items were worse for wear: the place was damp and unheated, and I guess everything needed a thorough overhaul when it reached its new home. I haven't visited the recently opened (last two or three years...) m/c museum in Kirk Michael yet (Traaie di liooar[1]), but I'm assured it's worth a visit.
