The K1000 was introduced one year after the other K variants and just a bit
before the M cameras. The K1000 was the only K series camera that continued in
production after the M intro. But Pentax had already fallen behind a bit by the
time the K series was introduced. I debated buying one but decided they were
overpriced, since they didn't really improve on the Spotmatics by any
significant degree.
