It doesn't work as well as ICE, but I have an old Poloroid dust and
scratch removal program I downloaded years ago, Polaroid probably
doesn't support it anymore. IIRC it works standalone on Jpegs and as a
Plugin in older versions of Photoshop, maybe even newer versions as
well. I haven't used it in a while but I'll see if I can dig it out if
you're interested.

It will save you hours of spotting dust or scratches. Just don't try
it with silver halide films. The ICE process will take an eternity
and you'll end up with clumped garbage as a scan. If you are
interested in B&W, use the Kodak BW400 or Ilford XP2. If you want
grain, you'll have to add it in PS.

Sounds like the warning against in the back of my head was for a reason.
Just as a point of information.... I dont actually shoot film
anymore... I have about 40 years of TRi-x negs and prints, PKR slides
and a smattering of color negs ... It sounds like I'll want to do my
own clean-up if necessary in photoshop.
Off to pick the thing up then go celebrate my birthday before I
tackle it.
