Only if the lens is sharp enough wide open. > The Pentax lens has a bit more reach in either direction. My current lens > for shooting these soccer games is the DA 50-200. The important question is "why are you losing shots?". If you're shooting outdoors, you generally don't need to go from 4 to 2.8, especially at the long end. Depth of field is pretty shallow too, remember Igor commenting on how shallow my depth of field was at 135/2.8 > The Pentax would have better integration with my K10 and future bodies. > Do any of the 3rd party lenses work with the supersonic focus motor? > > The Pentax lens is more than a little bit more money though... > > What to do? It sounds to me that what you need is a bigma, the Sigma 50-500. It has a few shortcomings, but is arguably in class by itself. I tried to find a sharper faster 500mm prime that cost less money, but couldn't. > > Cory > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
