JC, I can't compare directly because I do not own a DA55/1.4 so what
I'll say here is from readings here and there.

The K55 is a fine lens but not regarded as the 50s (all kinds).
The DA*55 has nothing to do with it.
Supposedly (being cautious) the K55 < 50s < DA*55 as far as sharpness
is concerned.

Anyone lending me DA*55, I'd be happy to compare :)
