And what about a sun just after rain, the "reflector" variety I wrote about, again exposing not for sun but for backlit subject? Always with lightsource to side of frame, not centered. If the 75/2.8 still doesn't flare, that's indeed very impressive! But anyway, if the light difference is big enough, there is flare. Even in super-superMC transmits 99.99 light. But I admit, in most shooting situations, this doesn't show (OTOH, I have had flare even on SMC primes, with sun striking the front element, not in frame, exposing for shadowed subject.
