Heh, no...I don't have any velvet around. > > And what about a sun just after rain, the "reflector" variety I > wrote about, again exposing not for sun but for backlit subject? This I did -- rising sun in the morning over ice. Sun on the left, sun on the right, sun in the middle, sun half-covered by foreground object. Shot was kind of boring in the end, but no obvious flare. I don't tend to carry or use hoods, I suppose because I've been spoiled by all these lovely SMC lenses. I've only had three lenses come with hoods: the SMC-A* 200mm f2.8 has one built in, so I use it; my Sigma 24mm f2.8 came with one of those flower shaped ones, but it is awkward to attach and doesn't stay on easily, so I don't use it; and my new 75mm has a flower shaped hood which attaches easily and firmly, has a door for using a polarizer, and reverses for easy storage, so I use it. I should leave that hood at home for a week and see if I manage to flare the lens in normal shooting, but I doubt that I'll be able to. -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
