When I lived in Joisey, as a kid, we'd always get to Macys in New York
during the Christmas season, the window displays were simple amazing -
animated, festive - the best.

A bright and cheerful photo. Nice framing.
I remember the Chirstmas windows at Fields in Chicago and going downtown
with my mom. Also Wieboldts on 63rd and Halsted and our neighborhood Sears
store at 79th and Dorchester, which did some pretty elaborate windows,
along with a lot of lavish interior displays. The Sears store is still
there, but the windows were bricked over many years ago. It's a fortress
now.
When my kids were little --in the 1980s, we took them to Sachs Fifth
Avenue in NY. Those were windows! Animation, sound, the works.

When I was a kid growing up in Montreal, my Dad brought me downtown
every Christmas season. At the time there were no less than four
grand department stores all within a few blocks, each with a wonderful
animated Christmas window for the kids (of all ages, as they say).
Walking along Ste. Catherine's Street with Dad on cold snowy winter
evenings to see all the windows and go to all the toy departments,
then to the Chicken Chalet for BBQ chicken and hot chocolate: those
are memories I'll always have with me this time of year.
I know there are only one or two of the big stores left in Montreal.
Here in Toronto, there is one of the old stores left downtown, The
Bay. They still have their Christmas window, and it's enjoyed by
young and old alike:

Hope you enjoy, and hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas!!
