Thanks, Dave. I won't be able to get around to it for another day or two at this point, but I'm interested to see what the test Steve suggested shows. > I am not 100% sure but was there not a thread about the istD cameras > going back to the original firmware and you could hack into the > adjusting process.??or was that just the K10D.?? Are you just saying that it may be possible to address the issue through the firmware somehow? Or that three's a solution like that that requires reverting to the 1.0 version of the firmware? > You asked me/us earlier if you should turn the beep back on. > > Up to you but i found it very helpful, especially when i did horse > shows. As long as the > beep beeped i was 99% sure i was ok. I turned the beep back on. And I've done a little checking, comparing what looks like good focus to me to what's indicated in the viewfinder. On the initial focus, before the viewfinder indicator and the beep show it, it appears that there may be a slight delay, a turn of 5〫to 10〫on the focus ring, between the former and the latter, i.e., that I may be judging it to come into focus earlier than the camera does. It's also apparent that I've been ignoring the indicator in the viewfinder. That said, I'd like to be able to get a sharp focus without aids, to, as it's put, to have it just "snap into place." I'm open to trying a split image focus screen short of that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Eric Weir Decatur, GA USA [email protected] -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
