I know what you mean about the Bogen QR, Nick. I just converted my Bogen QR system to Cullmann. Cullmann plates are smaller and lighter, and will install no matter which direction the plate is aimed. Installing the Bogen QR was always an act of anxiety, though I confess I didn't "get" how to do it properly until recently, when I realized that you must first cock the lever, rather than to slide in the QR plate in a way that causes it to cock.
