Back to original subject...

My PC power supply failed last week. I borrowed another PSU, reconnected, and nothing...
System hard drive is dead.

It was faulty (bad blocks) for couple months, and i already moved everything important to two mirrored volumes.

But that PSU thing, keeps me worried. There is still a chance, that other drives may be damaged from failed PSU.

I keep my fingers crossed.

These off-site backups are really good idea, but there is never enough time to implement. At least DVD backups, or external USB disk.

P.S. There is Amazon S3 service (with 4 gb free storage for first year). Im going to try it. Can be usefull, if you need to backup photos from remote location/trip/etc.

For Mac OS X, I use two synchronizing/cloning utility applications:

"ChronoSync" by Econ Technologies -

Their functions overlap but I find each to be more useful for
different kinds of operations.

Thanks, Godfrey. I'll keep these in mind.
How I use ChronoSync and SuperDuper! is demonstrated in article #06 -
"Backup System Notes" on my articles web page:

I've downloaded and printed this. May have some questions about it later.
