This week on Oz we have had the largest cyclone in our history make
landfall, flooding and flash flooding in the streets of capital cities
(one in which it's never occurred before), a heatwave in Sydney that
has broken records since record keeping began, wildfires in Perth
city, and starting a couple of weeks ago floods in various parts of
the country that were so widespread and significant that they also
broke many records. It's just difficult to believe that it's all
coincidental particularly when you are the ones suffering the
consequences. My money is on human induced climate change as the
catalyst, but whatever the cause it's plain to see that life will
likely become increasingly difficult due to extreme climatic events.
