Hi, Fritz! A cheap option is a tabletop tripod. I have good experience with a Manfrotto 210B/G106. It comes with a small, detachable ballhead and a telescopic screw-on column for extra height. Cost me ca. $40 a few years ago. My pic in next month's PUG is taken with it, btw. Jostein http://oksne.net
