I'm feeling a bit numb at the moment. Janet brought a paper home today which had a map showing a few notable locations. Three people died at Trocadero Bakery in Cashel St which was one of my regular lunchtime haunts.
I just read a bit more on the web, the shop staff on the ground floor made it out safely which is a relief, but I still feel saddened by the deaths and the loss of the bakery itself. It was about the smallest shop you can imagine but somehow they made it work. There was just enough space in the shop for staff, display cabinets and customers. You had to move to let others come past as there was only room for two customers between the food and the wall. Maybe three if you didn't mind making the others feel slightly uncomfortable. I'd usually call in there on my way back from lunch to pick up a chelsea bun to have for afternoon tea, usually if I'd be going out running or biking that afternoon... and often just because I tend to get hungry. Best chelsea buns I've ever had. They used a soft icing instead of a glaze so you get a good sugar kick followed by lasting energy from the bread. I had a "shower" today, more of a stand-up sponge bath, and I feel a bit better for it. Hopefully I don't smell too much :) Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
