Really? I first encountered them in San Diego, CA back in 1964.
I wonder, does anyone know off the top of their head how much snow
accumulates there in the winter, or how many -20 degree F days they get?
There were some in NY before that. in buildings that went up in the
20's and 30's , I believe.
