Looks like the $4.99 deal is "Currently Unavailable" now. That didn't
take long.
I have some of the Eneloops and they are nice. But, I figured at $4.99,
those were a steal. Apparently, I wasn't alone.

those load at $9.99 for me -- no knowledge of the brand, but consider
Sanyo Eneloops, or equivalent low self-discharge batteries -- they are
more expensive than generic NiMH, but worth it for not having to
wonder if how much charge they'll hold for a few days
