I'll be sure to post my thoughts on them once I've had a chance to put
them through the wringer a few times. Though, I'll admit I'm probably
not going to be the best judge of battery performance, since I don't
shoot as regularly as I should, and when I do, it's not all that often
that I completely drain a set to the point where I have to swap out --
at least not until the spring/summer months.
Though, if I'm able to make the proper arrangements for my trip out to
California in a few weeks, I should be able to get a decent feel for how
they're going to be. I plan to shoot a lot while I'm there, if I can
make it all work out.

FWIW, I just found some of Sony's version of Eneloops at Adorama for
$7.49/free shipping.

So, I went with those. I don't know if they'll be quite as good as the
Sanyos, but how bad can they be for the price? It'll be nice to have
another set, in any event.
I've got no experience with the Sonys but my experience with 'no name'
brand Ni-Mh Rechargeables has been universally awful. Eneloops are the
go but I'd be interested in your experience with the Sonys.

I was about to suggest the Sanyo Eneloops as I have found them to be good

Hi all,
Been doing a little bargain hunting in preparation for my upcoming

EPT 2500mAh AA Ni-Mh Rechargeable Battery -- 4 pk - $4.99

those load at $9.99 for me -- no knowledge of the brand, but consider Sanyo
Eneloops, or equivalent low self-discharge batteries -- they are more
expensive than generic NiMH, but worth it for not having to wonder if how
much charge they'll hold for a few days
