Well, I for one believe such cameras are soon utterly dead. Now, or in the
very imminent future, nobody would choose film for shooting 8fps. Digital
is the way. Shooting a film in three seconds just means that you'll loose
all the action since most of the time will be spending changing film; not
to mention the film cost.
I guess Pentax could come up with something with a max fps rate of 4-5
depending if they are going ahead with the flagship.

I really believe that if they make a 35mm film camera for the next ten
years or so they should make a conservative one. Those who want many fps
and lots of gizmos will go digital.

I can't for the life of me see what the benefit of a non-inner focusing
lens would be. Remove the power zoom but by God keep the IF feature. Making
it non IF will, all things equal, make it a slower focusing lens not to
mention what it does to the balance of the outfit.

It will be much cheaper just to make a digital version. Maybe we will see
some film/digital hybrid in MF but I wouldn't hold my breath for the same
thing in 35mm unless it is for a very expensive slr.
