Hi Steve, The smallest extension tube works fine. I have been doing this since my *istD and have used it for the K10D and K7 with no problems. At present I use it with a set of Olympus bellows and 20, 38 and 80mm Olympus lenses (just changed the mount at the camera end and it works great.
