Although without any indicators in the foreground or background, how can one 
tell whether the camera is front focusing or back focusing? With a chart that 
is at 45 degrees to the camera, you have a scale to work with. And as long as 
the chart has a good target in the center and the camera is set to single-point 
autofocus, I don't see what can go wrong. The clock can show that you're not 
achieving good focus, but it can't tell you which way to go with the adjustment.
