Well, I'd say that you definitely seem to have gotten a bad one.
(Perhaps it was improperly "repaired" or something?)

I have experience with only one A 28/2, but I'd have to say that it
is (fortunately!) not anything like what you have described.  While
mine is not the sharpest 28mm wide open (and has a little more light
fall-off wide open than I would like), it is still quite usable even
at maximum aperture (even though I try to use it mostly at
mid-apertures, usually enjoying the f/2 speed advantage just for the
easy focusing).

Take a look at some pix from Joachim in the Lens Gallery
(http://phred.org/pentax/lensgal/a28_2/a28_2.html for the LG mirror
- the main site still appears to be down).  While his photos show
that the lens is not perfect, they certainly appear to be quite
unlike the sort of results that you have described.

Well, I guess the good news, Frantisek, is that you were just trying
this lens out, and hadn't actually bought it yet.  <phew>
