Boy, that's a good guess. And the case I've got here that the Pentax-A
stuff came in has three worn bags of the stuff in it. They are all
ground up, though. Not beads. Still it could have been there from some
other Silica package somewhere. Didn't do anything in reacting to
water, but then neither did the ground up Silica from the old bags.
Still have no idea if it came from inside the camera body or fell off
a lens - or whether it was a part of my problem in the first place.
More likely that the contact cleaning I did just before that was the
cure.
