I totally disagree with your thoughts.

The only improvements needed are 3

a faster fps
fully sealed body
perhaps a faster film rewinder

This can be a 12 month task that can involve a team of 3
An electronics engineer, designer amd moulder/assembler

I am not asking for a complete new body just an improved body of the current mzs.

Are you saying Pentax is so small of a company they can't afford to invest $200,000 US
for a body that can last for the next 10 years (if it costs them that much?

Remember all we are talking about is an improvement of the MZS which would be faster
fps, fully sealed body and a possible faster film rewind

You telling me globally on planet Eart they wouldn't sell 200 bodies @ $1800 us in the
first 24 months which would tally @ $360,000 plus the on going sales and profits they
can make for the next 10 years?

Someone needs to sit down and look at the big picture not the picture in the tunnel
with
an attitude "We enthusiasts could not provide Pentax with enough cash"

The time and financial investment required by Pentax to "target" the "pro"
market would be impossible to accomplish and still hope to increase their
net profit. Including the increase in low end gear purchases by association.

The "enthusiasts" we represent may all buy into a new "pro" Pentax system,
silver or pixel based. But just as we would lose, both financially and
familiarity-wise, by giving up our lens collections to make a shift over to
Nikon or Canon, few of those pro owners would drop their current systems to
move over to Pentax, unless Pentax could scoop tht market with something
that would be several years ahead of the competition. Unlikely.

We enthusiasts could not provide Pentax with enough cash flow for such an
investment in any case. Too small a demographic.
