Dan, I am thinking that central composition does not contribute here. You see, there is very nice balance between the reflection of the sky on the right and the iris itself. The LHS of the image does not seem to belong. Of course it was there when you took the shot but it does not seem to add or to take from the photograph. It feels like a bit of a dead weight to me.

Personally, I would have tried to put the flower more to the left and have more of the OOF sky playing the colors and tones with the flower itself. But the flower being in focus would require more of the empty OOF sky to the right from it than there is in this specific shot...

Just my cents.
