Dave,

I have the same meter.

First off, forget all about comparing readings with an in-camera meter since 
there is really no 1:1 corespondence between ambient measurements and in 
camera meters.

I have the same meter and the way I use it is to use the lumisphere (dome) 
and take two readings. The first is the brightest area of a scene. Do the 
same for the darkest and then split the difference. In other words, if the 
brightest highlights read f16 and the deepest shade f4 then go for 
f8...should be fine. Bracket if you must.

Lean more toward the darkest reading for best detail in the darker areas for 
negative film. Slightly underexpose these areas for chromes.

It's a fantastic meter. Should give you years of service.

Oh yeah, and the Yashica-mats are great, too!
