In addition, the "hardware" on the 'scope is a darker, hammer finish
green.  Also,  some of the highlights are a complementary orange.

So, IMHO, the green is intentional as these scopes match my 400/2.8
exactly in finish.

It's a good finish, too-  I had the 400  balanced on a bus window frame
for most of the trip into Denali, and the lens did more damage to the bus
that the other way around.  The aluminum marks wiped right off the minty
green finish.
