Ah, didn't know that. I have the an optical accessory finder on the
GXR nearly all the time, I can always toggle from AF to MF with one
button press, so I leave the AF set on to Spot AF mode and have
learned how to target the correct region in the viewfinder. Touch the
shutter release, lock in the focus, then tap the button.

That's what I didn't like ... it just seemed awfully easy to hit the
wrong button too often when I handled it.

Hmm, well, I prefer the M series starting in 1954, but I had IIIF, IIC
and IIF for a long time too. The II and III series were a little
fiddly too.
