He's been out of the O/R for about 18 hours now. C5 vertebra was removed and replaced with a titanium cage. Front of C4-C6 were fused, then they flipped him over and fused C3-C6 as well. Today he's up and about. Sitting, walking, eating normal food. He's off the I/V fluids and just taking some wonderfully powerful painkillers for a while. That's a hell of a bullet he dodged. By all rights he should be a quadriplegic and perhaps on a ventilator - if not dead.
