Thanks, Chris. I was standing on the end of a pier, and distracting elements to both sides limited the framing possibilities. I considered cropping off the left, but that cost too much sky. So this is what I got.
I think that judge was a fool. Unless you're in the water or way up in the air, the mast will cross the horizon. Boats are beautiful things to photograph anyway.
