Okay, seriously now :-) The difficulty of shooting sunsets/sunrise is
the wide exposure range between the sun and the surrounding details.
I have long ago learned not to attempt to get everything unless you
want to HDR-to-death the photo.  In the case of Jens' photo which is a
wide shot with all the foreground details, I would have hid the sun
behind a cloud or waited for it to go just below the horizon.
Besides, in terms of the bigger picture, the sun is so small anyway
that color may not be noticeable.  Otherwise, zoom in and make the sun
the main subject (as in the 'polluted' photo I earlier referred to),
get the color and silhouette everything else.
