I've resisted the jump to newer Pentax models and continue to use a K20D
with a K10D as backup.
From a cost vs benefit standpoint I'd be hard pressed to reccommend the K5
unless you really need the few siginifcant advantages it has - high ISO
performance being the main one IMO.
The K20D is available relatively cheap and does a good- not great job.

K7, which is a big step above my (spare camera now) K10D. I, too, would get
a K5 except that I'm cheap, and the K7 has only 6300 exposures on it. The
K5's attraction for me is its low-light ability (though shooting RAW I get
excellent results at 1600, and sometimes even 3200, with the K7).

I am intrigued with the new Pentax
cameras, and am thinking of switching
back.
I need to upgrade anyway. I have a Canon Xsi that I
better unload while I
can still get some money for it. Lots of new cameras
out, all brands, since
I last looked.
If you are using a Pentax, which camera are you
using?
Appreciate hearing. And appreciate hearing any
thoughts/feelings you have
about it.
Marnie aka Doe :-)
If you have a Canon, you might mention that too, which
camera. But not
enough to be drummed off list. ;-)
