Not terribly clever, but when I'm not using them, I keep stands,
umbrellas & tripod in a (clean) trash can in a closet in my studio.
When I take them somewhere, they go into a duffle bag (an old-school
canvas hockey bag)... This system is easy-peasy, even for a slob like
me.
The wrench-roll wouldn't be at all difficult to make, though. If you
had access to a sewing machine, you could get a canvas drop cloth
from the hardware store... and go from there.

Standard home sewing machines generally won't handle heavy canvas.
