Agreed, but the painter's drop cloths I was thinking about aren't very heavy. I've made slipcovers out of them before on my machine without a problem.
All of which begs the question of whether it would be a worthwhile endeavor in the first place, though. Might be better to go with a heavier-duty canvas. Sounds like Larry's found a reasonable solution, anyway.
