I love Black & White, but with this image I'd say Color. I viewed the B&W first and my eye had a very difficult time parsing the lower right hand area (where the close fronds were out of focus and the more distant fronds in the plane of focus). It looked unnatural to me until I figured out what I was looking at. The color image presented no such difficulties (the eye needed to attempt no translation).
