Nice series. I especially like "Midnight Tacos" and the last one of the series, for me, is an "I wish I had thought of that" composition.

Thanks, Bob, Jeffery, Jack, and Dan. Abandon Church is a favorite for me, but Goat Taco
is right up there. Darrel loves the sign, "Soup coming soon"--that sign really
cracks him up. The morning I took the storefront pictures, we were probably driving at
about 30-35 mph, with quite a bit of morning stop and go; we'd left the north side about
7:15 a.m. Stop and go traffic doesn't really help much-- the car never seems to stop
where and when you'd prefer. Still, it's a fun challenge for a photographer. Cheers,
Christine

Christine,
Your pictures remind me of a church we would pass on Holman Ave west
of Sear's old headquarters.
(Lynn worked for Sears before they moved into the tower and we would
notice this church.)
The building was an old synagoge complete with external symbols and names.
When the neighborhood changed, the Jews moved lock, stock, and barrel
to Lincolnwood& Skokie.
They took everything with them - including the street names!

Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to share a few photos. Work is so busy; Darrel is constantly
driving me about the city for meetings and whatnot, and in an attempt to keep
up with my photography, I'm trying to become proficient at making pictures
while in the passenger seat of a car, zooming along. I find it challenging to
say the least.

The first two pictures were taken as I walked to an El stop earlier in the
week, but the next six photos were taken this past Friday morning, as Darrel
drove south on Ashland Ave. Our destination was 63rd and Halsted. In Chicago,
there is a strong tradition of storefront churches on the south side, and many
of these photos depict this. I'd love to do a series on this subject.

It's really hard to get composition etc just right when you're whizzing by in a
car, but it's a fun challenge. The last two shots are lakefront scenes when
heading back north along Lake Shore Drive. This time a colleague was driving.

Being old doesn't seem so old now that I'm old.
