I advise you to avoid PHP. The inconsistency of function naming and order of
arguments would drive you insane.
Wise advice, Dave, and as far as possible I do avoid PHP. I've done more
than my share of it over the years (12, I estimate) and Python is my
language of choice now. Much more satisfying.
But my comment was a joking reference to a remark that Ken Thompson made
when asked what he'd do over again if he were redesigning the UNIX
system. He replied "I'd spell creat with an e."
