I don't think logs are too dark. Sometimes I have better luck with these
deep forest pics on a very overcast day. YMMV.
I do like the photo fine the way it is.

Went for a walk with some friends in the nearby park today. Sometimes when I
look at this I really like it,
sometimes I think that the logs are too dark. But, this is about as
much as I can lighten them without the leaves in the background getting
too light.
Comments? Suggestion?

I tried with a bit more fill light, then darkening the leaves back up with
green luminance, but that didn't work very well for me.
